Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the urgent priority for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is the physical protection of people and the thwarting of any attempts by russian forces to advance on the front lines. Zelensky made this statement in an evening video address on May 8th.
"Today, there was a separate report from the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and a report from the Commander-in-Chief. Our positions on the front lines, the physical protection of our people and communities, and the thwarting of any attempts by russian forces to advance are urgent priorities", - the President said.
The head of state also thanked every warrior of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As reported, Oleh Synehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, stated that the occupiers are creating "a certain group" in the north, and evacuation plans for Kharkiv have already been developed.
