Ahead of the NATO summit in Washington, scheduled for July 9-11, allies are discussing and deciding many issues regarding Ukraine. This was reported by European Pravda, citing a statement from Stoltenberg at a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken following their meeting in Washington.
The NATO Secretary General discussed the Alliance's agreed plan for training and assisting Ukraine in security matters. He also added that he expects new announcements regarding increased military support for Ukraine.
"I am confident that we will also have wording indicating that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance... The exact formulations of what we will agree on are currently being discussed among NATO members, but I am confident that we will have a good agreement on decisions by the summit", - Stoltenberg noted.
He is convinced that the stronger the support from the Alliance and the more reliable the long-term commitments to Ukraine, the sooner the war will end.
