Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that during the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's meeting held today, August 12, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi provided an update on the front-line actions and operations in the Kursk oblast of russia. The relevant video was posted on the President’s Telegram channel.

"The most important update was from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi regarding our defensive actions on the front and the operation in the Kursk oblast. We are grateful to all the soldiers and commanders for their resilience and decisive actions. Among other things, we instructed the Minister of Internal Affairs, other officials, and the SBU to prepare a humanitarian plan for the operation area", - Zelensky said.

Specifically, Oleksandr Syrskyi stated: "We continue the offensive operation in the Kursk oblast. Currently, we control about a thousand square kilometers of territory within the russian federation. The military groups are carrying out their assigned tasks. Fighting is ongoing across almost the entire front. The situation is under our control".

Zelensky also mentioned that the meeting included a report from the economic bloc, and first vice-premier Yuliia Svyrydenko.

"We are increasing the share of Ukrainian production in government procurements. The government is preparing long-term, predictable contracts for our enterprises, ranging from 5 to 10 years", - he said.

"Several other instructions were given. The Coordination Headquarters, Main Intelligence Directorate, SBU, and Ministry of Internal Affairs are to prepare a clear and transparent strategy for bringing our people back from russian captivity. The Ministry of Defense and diplomats are to present a list of necessary actions on our part to obtain permission from our partners to use long-range weapons for the defense of our territory", - the President outlined the topics discussed at the meeting.

As reported, on August 12 russian dictator vladimir putin for the first time publicly responded to the capture of russian territory during a meeting on the situation in the Kursk oblast, addressing the reasons behind the events.
