The captain of the team of young cyclists injured in a crash involving a KamAZ truck on the Donetsk ring road has died in the hospital from her injuries. This was reported by acting "Minister of Youth, Sports, and Tourism of the DNR" Yuri Martynov.
"We all hoped until the last moment for a better outcome. But, unfortunately, it turned out differently. Despite all the efforts of the medical staff, young cyclist Darina Samoylovich, who sustained severe injuries in the accident yesterday, has passed away", - he said.
As previously reported, an accident occurred on the Donetsk ring road on Monday, involving athletes on bicycles. During a training ride, a truck collided with the athletes' support vehicle, which then crashed into a column of cyclists. Eight children were injured, two of whom were hospitalized with serious injuries.
