The russian Defense Ministry has confirmed that a Tu-22M3 strategic bomber crashed in the Irkutsk oblast. According to the ministry’s statement, the aircraft went down during a routine flight.
The crew ejected safely, and there is no threat to their lives. The plane fell in a remote area, causing no damage on the ground, the ministry assured.
According to the russian defense ministry, the crash was caused by a technical malfunction.
