As of August 19, the Ukrainian military has isolated the Glushkovsky district of russia's Kursk oblast. This was reported by russian "war correspondents" and the Ukrainian military portal Defense Express on August 19.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces have successfully cut off the russians south of the Seym river: all three bridges have been destroyed. The isolated part of the Kursk oblast is only slightly smaller than the area captured during the fighting", - writes Defense Express.

The destruction of the third bridge over the Seym river was reported by several russian "war correspondents", who indicated that the bridge near the settlement of Karizha was the one destroyed.

"We should note that photos of other destroyed bridges are sometimes mistakenly associated with this news. Previously, the Ukrainian Defense Forces had destroyed bridges near the settlements of Glushkovo and Zvannoye. The key point is that these were all major crossings in this area", - Defense Express emphasizes.

The report notes that on the map, it looks like this.

Defense Express clarifies that the destruction of all three bridges in this area means that the enemy no longer has any major crossings over the river.

"As a result, a large part of the Glushkovsky district, which is wedged between the Ukrainian border, the territory recently liberated from the russian forces, and the Seym river, becomes isolated. For context, this area covers about 600 square kilometers, roughly equivalent to the area currently controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, according to DeepState", - the report states.

At the same time, Defense Express notes that this does not mean the enemy will automatically disappear from this territory.

"Russian 'war correspondents' have already started promoting the narrative that the destruction of the bridges is not a problem at all because pontoon crossings have already been set up. And Defense Express must note that public satellite images from Sentinel and ESA confirm this. Specifically, a pontoon crossing near the settlement of Glushkovo was set up as early as August 16", - the report says. "And, objectively, for the russian army, it is not a major challenge to lay a pontoon crossing over the Seym, which in this area ranges from approximately 30 to 80 meters wide. However, any pontoon crossing is a bottleneck for any logistics".

Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered the village of Apanasovka in the Kursk oblast.
