The Verkhovna Rada passed the law "On the Protection of the Constitutional Order in the Activities of Religious Organizations" in its second reading, which prohibits the activities of religious organizations affiliated with the russian federation on Ukrainian territory. This was reported by Ukrinform, citing Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a Ukrainian MP from the Holos faction.

The law, initiative No. 8371, was passed with 265 votes from members of parliament.

The purpose of the law is to protect national and public security, as well as human rights and freedoms, and to outline the specificities of foreign religious organizations' activities in Ukraine.

The document notes that no provision of the law should be interpreted as restricting the freedom of religion or belief, or the right to observe religious practices and rituals.
