The Ukrainian Armed Forces are permitted to use American weapons in russia's Kursk oblast to create a security buffer zone. This was stated by Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, according to American media.
According to her, in cases where counterstrikes are involved, this does not violate U.S. policy.
"Our policy allows Ukraine to return fire in order to protect itself from russian attacks that are coming from this border region, and this border region includes the Kursk region, it includes the Sumy oblast, and therefore they are defending themselves from attacks", - Ms. Singh stated.
At the same time, the U.S. has not changed its policy regarding the use of long-range American weapons for strikes deep into russia.
