In the Donetsk oblast, a mine worker was killed as a result of russian shelling over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported on September 24.

"The Donetsk oblast: as a result of shelling on the industrial site of the mine, a fire broke out. No combustion products entered the mine. At the time of the incident, 590 workers were in the mine, and they were brought to the surface. The fire has been extinguished. During an inspection of the industrial site, a worker was found in one of the buildings who died from injuries sustained", - the statement said.

The ministry added that over the past day, power outages occurred in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson oblasts due to shelling and hostilities.

The Ministry of Energy noted that significant damage caused by russia's mass attacks, particularly one of the largest attacks on the energy sector on August 26, continues to complicate the operation of Ukraine's energy system. Additionally, russian forces have not stopped daily shelling of energy infrastructure facilities.
