As of November 12, nearly 54,000 people in Ukraine are officially considered missing under special circumstances, according to Leonid Tymchenko, Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, who spoke on the We Are Ukraine TV channel on November 12.

“As of today, there are 53,868 individuals officially classified as missing under special circumstances... Since September 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers assigned the Ministry of Internal Affairs the authority to coordinate the search for persons missing under special circumstances. The Ministry established a Secretariat for the Commissioner on Missing Persons in Special Circumstances and created regional offices”, - Tymchenko stated.

He emphasized that among the missing are civilians, military personnel, as well as children.
