For the first time in 73 days, russian occupiers carried out a combined missile and drone strike on Kyiv, as reported by Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, on Telegram.

“The russian armed forces launched a combined missile-drone strike on Kyiv, the first in over 73 days”, - Popko wrote.

He specified that the enemy likely used air-launched cruise missiles, ballistic missiles (KN-23/KN-24/Iskander-M), and drones of types like Shahed/Geran/Gerbera/Parodiya. The air raid alert in the capital was declared around 6:30 a.m. due to the threat of UAVs approaching from the east. At this point, cruise missiles were already heading toward the Kyiv oblast. Just as the missiles were nearing Kyiv, the enemy simultaneously launched a ballistic strike on the city, finishing their assault with another wave of drones.

“The airstrike by russian forces on Kyiv lasted over two hours. During the air defense battle, Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down several cruise and ballistic missiles, along with up to a dozen enemy drones (the exact count and types of weapons used will be disclosed in reports from the Air Forces)”, - the statement added.

As of 9:00 a.m., there were no reports of damage or casualties in Kyiv.

“I urge Kyiv residents to pay close attention to air raid signals. Do not ignore the warnings. Stay safe!”, -Popko urged.
