Ukraine is currently forming a list of partners to join a working group aimed at strengthening its defense and developing a common stance on a diplomatic resolution to the war. This was stated by Presidential Press Secretary Serhiy Nykyforov in a comment to journalists, as reported by European Pravda.
According to Nykyforov, Kyiv is bringing together key European partners who, along with the United States, "can ensure maximum strengthening of our state".
"The final list of participants is still being formed, but it includes countries with long-range capabilities, countries making the largest investments in Ukrainian weapons production, and countries critical to our future in NATO", - he added.
The spokesperson announced that Ukraine plans to hold a meeting of these countries in December to "coordinate, develop a common position", and ensure Ukraine's strength "under any circumstances—whether at the negotiation table or on the battlefield".
The creation of the group was revealed during a joint press conference between Zelensky and German opposition leader Friedrich Merz, who arrived in Kyiv on Monday, December 9.
Merz proposed forming a contact group comprising Germany, France, Poland, and the United Kingdom to exchange views on ending the war in Ukraine and "develop a common vision together with the United States".
In response, Zelensky noted that Ukraine is already organizing such a group and, in addition to the mentioned states, expects Denmark to participate, with the first meeting planned for December.
