A resident of Donetsk, who was trying to bring in the temporarily occupied territory radio stations for the militants, was arrested - the press service of the prosecutor's office in Donetsk region reports.

On January 20, at the Novotroitske checkpoint prohibited items, namely radios and their components were found in the DAF vehicle’s trailer. The vehicle moved in a convoy of humanitarian staff Pomozhemo.

"Law enforcement services established that 36-year-old driver of the car, a resident of Donetsk, tried to carry radio stations in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region to transfer them to the terrorists afterwards", - the press-service reported.

His actions are qualified under Part 1 of Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance to a terrorist organization).

The court upheld the petition of the prosecutor's office of Donetsk region and arrested the citizen for 60 days. Now he is held in a detention unit.

Now SBU conducts the pre-trial investigation in the Donetsk region.

Earlier, the press service of Rinat Akhmetov's Humanitarian Staff reported on "prohibited for transportation objects of the two drivers" which were found during the inspection of humanitarian convoys.

Staff considers the transportation of prohibited items to be unacceptable. It was stated by the contract between the organization and the carriers.

"We urge law enforcement authorities to promptly and openly investigate the case and bring the perpetrators to justice. We are ready to provide maximum information, which will speed up an investigation. The Staff will cooperate with law enforcement authorities", - the message stated.
