At the level of state leaders, Ukraine and Germany have supported the Easter ceasefire in the Donbass, which is to enter into force on April 18. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a joint briefing with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, - UNN reports.

"We supported the Easter ceasefire, which is to come into force on April 18, provided that it is implemented by the Russian Federation", - Poroshenko noted.

At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine "bound the wounds of war" and continues to restrain the aggressor thanks to international support.

Earlier, the contact group on Ukraine agreed on the need to declare the Easter truce. The TCG also agreed to hold an additional videoconference on April 18 to finalize it.
