Volodymyr Zelensky, who won the presidential election in Ukraine, promises to analyze the "language" law adopted today for its compliance with the Constitution. He wrote this on his Facebook.

It is noted that the position of Volodymyr Zelensky is that the Ukrainian language is the only state language in Ukraine.

"It was, it is and it will be so. There are no compromises on this issue. The state should take care of the development of Ukrainian language, of expanding the scope of its application. This is also unconditional, the whole society agrees", - he assures.

At the same time, the future president had a question about the methods by which this strategic course will be implemented. "My principled position is that the state should promote the development of Ukrainian language by creating incentives and positive examples, not prohibitions and punishments, complicating bureaucratic procedures and increasing the number of officials instead of reducing them", - he states.

Volodymyr Zelensky notes that today it is difficult to predict the consequences of the adoption of this law.

"After my entry into the office of President, a thorough analysis of this law will be made to ensure that all constitutional rights and interests of all citizens of Ukraine are respected in it. Following the analysis, I will respond in accordance with the constitutional powers of the President of Ukraine and in the interests of citizens", - the message says.

As previously reported, on April 25, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on the functioning of Ukrainian language as a state in virtually all spheres of public life.
