Leader of the "DNR" Denis Pushilin has stated that local "elections" in the zone of occupation are possible only after securing the "special status of CADLO" in the constitution of Ukraine. This is reported by MK.

"Kyiv should provide Donbas with a special status, which will be embodied in the Constitution of Ukraine. Local elections can be held in the DNR only after that", - the news agency quotes Pushilin.

As previously reported, head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov stated that holding local elections in accordance with Ukrainian law in the occupied regions of Donbas in the near future was impossible, since a number of points have not been fulfilled, in particular, Russian troops have been withdrawn. He stressed that the elections should be held under Ukrainian law, with access to all political parties and forces that are registered in Ukraine, with free access for journalists, and they should be recognized by international observers.

Earlier head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Leonid Kravchuk stated that Ukraine had prepared a "Plan of Joint Steps" for the Trilateral Contact Group, containing a proposal to completely end the conflict and demilitarize CADLO in order to create conditions for holding local elections there on March 31, 2021.
