A conversation took place between the Presidents of the USA and Ukraine, Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky. This was announced on June 7 by the U.S. national security advisor Jake Sullivan, - Voice of America reports.

"President Biden told President Zelensky that he would continue to vigorously defend Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also told President Zelenskiy that he was looking forward to welcoming him to the White House here in Washington this summer after he [Biden] will return from Europe", - the American official noted.

According to Sullivan, the call was planned earlier.

The report recalls that politicians from the Republican Party and experts earlier called on Biden to speak with Zelensky before the summit with Russian President Putin.

The conversation between Biden and Zelensky was greeted and called "critically important" by executive director of the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, Mike Carpenter, a former Barack Obama administration official.
