On September 6, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Rustem Umerov as the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine. This was announced by Ukrainian Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zhelezniak in his Telegram channel.
"The Parliament has appointed Rustem Umerov as the Minister of Defense of Ukraine. 338 votes in favor, all factions supported the decision", - the message states.
It was previously reported that President Zelensky had proposed Rustem Umerov's candidacy for the position of Minister of Defense.
