The National Commission, carrying out regulation in the sphere of energy and utilities, almost doubled tariffs for thermal energy and district heating services for the population as of July 1st, 2016. This decision was unanimously voted for by all members EUNRCU on Thursday, - reports UNIAN.

"The current average tariff for heating for the population is 534 UAH per 1 Gcal, as of July 1stthe average tariff is set at the level of 1043 UAH per 1 Gcal," - said the head of profile administration of the EUNRCU Svetlana Chernykh during the discussion. She added that the increase was due to growth of fuel cost (474 hryvnia/Gcal), the electricity tariff (13 UAH/Gcal) and wages (9 UAH/Gcal).

According to her, the adjustment of the fuel component is related to the government's decision to change the tariff for gas used in the production of heat for households. Previously, fuel accounted for 400 UAH per 1 Gcal of heat (75% of the cost), then as of July 1st this figure will amount to 874 hryvnia (84% of the cost).

EUNRCU expressed confidence that gas price for heating approved by the government at the level of 4942 UAH per 1 thousand cubic meters (excluding VAT and shipping) is the lowest on the market, as monitoring during four months of this year shows that the industry had to buy gas at the price from 5 433 UAH per 1 thousand cubic meters up to 6880 UAH for 1 thousand cubic meters (excluding VAT, target bonuses and tariffs for its transportation).
