The heavyweight bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury took place, resulting in Usyk becoming the first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion of the world.

The professional boxing match between WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and WBA (Super), WBO, IBF, IBO, and The Ring titleholder Oleksandr Usyk took place on May 18, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The boxers went all 12 rounds. In the ninth round, the Ukrainian knocked the Brit down.

By the judges' decision, Oleksandr Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the 21st century, unifying the four championship belts - WBA, IBF, WBO, and WBC.

The judges had differing opinions on the winner of the bout. Two of the three judges favored Usyk - 115:112, 114:113, while one judge awarded a narrow victory to Fury - 114:113.

Oleksandr Usyk entered the ring dressed as a Cossack hetman, wearing a green caftan. His hat with three feathers and blue-and-yellow printed boxing gloves highlighted his look.

After the fight, Usyk addressed his late father, saying, "Father, do you hear me? We did it". He concluded his speech with "Glory to Ukraine".
