The leaders of Ukraine, the USA, and 21 other NATO countries, along with the EU and Japan, signed the "Ukraine Compact" following a meeting in Washington. This multilateral document contains commitments to support Ukraine in the defense sector, as reported by European Pravda.

The document aims to "accelerate collective efforts to meet Ukraine's comprehensive security needs". The signatory states commit to fulfilling their obligations under bilateral security agreements, specifically:

- Supporting Ukraine's urgent defense and security needs, including continued provision of security assistance and training, modern military equipment, and defense industry support;

- Accelerating efforts to develop the future Armed Forces of Ukraine;

- In the event of future armed aggression by russia against Ukraine after the current hostilities have ended, quickly and collectively convening at the highest level to determine appropriate subsequent steps to support Ukraine, including the provision of rapid and sustainable security assistance and imposing economic and other penalties on russia.

The agreement is open for other states to join and will operate in parallel with Ukraine's advancement towards EU and NATO membership.

It is also noted that the partners signed agreements with Ukraine that do not require ratification. Therefore, the White House acknowledged that Donald Trump, if he wins the US elections, could revoke the security agreement with Ukraine.
