NATO's policy remains unchanged: Poland will not shoot down russian missiles and Shahed drones in Ukrainian airspace. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"The Alliance will continue to support Ukraine, and we have now increased our assistance, particularly with various air defense systems. Of course, F-16s are also important in this context. We will provide more ground-based air defense systems and ammunition for the ones we already have", - Western media quote him as saying.

As previously reported, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that Warsaw is considering Kyiv's proposal to shoot down russian missiles heading towards Polish territory while they are still in Ukrainian airspace. This proposal was included in a joint defense agreement between the two countries, signed during President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Warsaw.
