The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, will personally visit the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk to inspect and investigate the circumstances surrounding recent losses among the personnel. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram on July 15.

"To inspect the situation in the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk and to investigate the circumstances of recent losses among the personnel, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has decided to send a comprehensive working group to the brigade's area of responsibility, headed by the Chief of the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine", - the General Staff stated.

It was previously reported that Azovstal defender and paramedic of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, Kateryna Polishchuk ("Ptashka"), appealed to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Volodymyr Zelensky, to take action and remove individuals who are not interested in victory from making important military decisions. Specifically, she mentioned the commander of the 59th Brigade, Bohdan Shevchuk.

Additionally, on July 13, Veronika Barda, the wife of a missing soldier, published an appeal on Facebook on behalf of the relatives of the fighters of the 59th Brigade. She claimed that there have been increasing cases of soldiers going missing without any explanations provided to their families. Her husband, soldier Oleh Barda, went missing on December 11, 2023.

"Recently, we have been anxiously observing the mass disappearances of our loved ones in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk oblast. Many of us have lost contact with our sons, husbands, and brothers. The command provides no information about their fate, causing us deep concern and despair", - Veronika Barda's statement reads.
