The russian army shelled the city of Lyman, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to three others, as reported by the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office on July 23.

"According to the investigation, on July 23, 2024, at 17:20, russian forces shelled the city of Lyman. The projectiles hit a residential area, killing two local residents aged 58 and 66. Additionally, two women aged 50 and 74 and a 51-year-old man were injured. Preliminary reports suggest the aggressor state's army used Iskander missiles.

Moreover, at 18:00, russia struck the Novohrodivka community, attacking a roadway with an FPV drone. Three civilians aged 49 to 68 were injured", - the statement reads.

Approximately 15 residential houses and a vehicle were damaged. Prosecutors are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document the war crimes committed by the armed forces of russia.

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial investigations have begun into criminal proceedings regarding violations of the laws and customs of war (part 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
