European Commission spokesperson for foreign policy, Peter Stano, commented on the events in the Kursk oblast of russia in a commentary for Suspilne.
He stated that under international law, Ukraine "has the legitimate right to defend itself, including by striking at the aggressor on their own territory".
"The EU continues to fully support Ukraine's lawful right to defend itself against russian aggression and its efforts to restore sovereignty and territorial integrity", - he said.
White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby stated that the U.S. has not changed its policy regarding Ukraine's use of American weapons "to counter immediate threats coming from across the border". According to him, officials will "contact their Ukrainian counterparts to better understand the situation", Bloomberg reports.
