Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi intends to discuss with President Volodymyr Zelensky the possibilities for a peaceful resolution of the russia-Ukraine war during his visit to Kyiv. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine, citing Modi's statement on August 21.
"I look forward to continuing my previous discussions with Zelensky on strengthening bilateral cooperation and sharing views on the peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine", - Modi's statement said.
The Indian Prime Minister added that he hopes for the "swift restoration of peace and stability in the region".
According to reports, Modi will visit Ukraine on August 23 at Zelensky's invitation.
Earlier, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs noted that this is a "historic visit, as the Indian Prime Minister will visit Ukraine for the first time in over 30 years of diplomatic relations".
It is worth noting that India has agreed to relay messages between Zelensky and putin.
