On the evening of August 22, the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces officially confirmed on its Telegram channel that it is advancing in the Kharkiv oblast.
It was reported that on August 15, as a result of counterattacks, the brigade took control of the battalion defense area of the occupiers, including enemy platoon and company strongpoints, and advanced nearly two kilometers into the frontline.
"The main objective of the operation was to deplete the offensive potential of russia's 20th Army. As of now, this objective has been achieved", - stated the brigade commander, Colonel Andriy Biletsky.
It was noted that the ratio of forces on the battlefield was 2.5 to 1 in favor of the enemy, plus the enemy's support forces. However, in four days, the enemy lost 300 personnel, and a significant amount of enemy equipment and weapons were destroyed or damaged.
"The uniqueness of the operation lay in the fact that we attacked a superior enemy and won. The success was due to detailed planning, unconventional decisions, and the coordinated work of artillery, air defense, UAVs, and intelligence. But the heroes of the battlefield were the tank crews, deminers, scouts, and, above all, the assault troops", - emphasized the brigade commander.
It was also noted that information about the operation was kept confidential for security reasons. The assault actions diverted the enemy's focus from the direction of Makiivka in the Luhansk oblast and relieved pressure from other critical sections of the front in neighboring brigade sectors.
"Now the occupiers are increasing the use of aviation, MLRS, and long-range artillery. The enemy is trying to reclaim the lost ground. But the 3rd Assault Brigade is holding the line!", - the soldiers emphasized.
