A construction boom is expected in the occupied territories of Ukraine, according to Deputy Prime Minister of russia Marat Khusnullin in an interview with russian propagandists.
"We are currently launching 330 new sites. We plan to start building at least 3.5 million square meters of housing by 2026–2027", - he said.
"We see enormous potential in this. We believe there will be demand. First, some people will return after the end of the 'special military operation' who had left. I think residents from some regions of Russia will also move there", - he admitted, acknowledging that the occupied territories are planned to be settled by incoming russians.
As reported earlier, russian authorities in the occupied territories of Ukraine announced a preferential mortgage program, allowing residents from any region of russia to take advantage of it. Given the high cost of commercial housing, even with a 2% annual loan, few locals can afford to buy a mortgage apartment.
