As of August 2024, more than 14,000 Ukrainian citizens are considered missing due to russian aggression. This was reported by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, on Telegram on August 30.

"Currently, over 14,000 people are considered missing as a result of russia's aggression. It has also been verified that nearly 1,700 civilians are being held in captivity in russia", - Lubinets wrote.

He emphasized that since 2014, russia has been illegally abducting and imprisoning civilians in Ukraine. These individuals are subjected to torture and sexual violence. Their families have no information about them.

"We must work to bring Ukrainians back home! I once again draw the international community's attention to the abduction of civilians by russians and call for effective measures!", - Lubinets stressed.

Earlier, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are creating a unified support service for the families of deceased, missing, and captured servicemen.
