The Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully targeted a russian Nebo-M radar system, as reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram on October 3.
"Units of the Ukrainian missile forces struck the russian Nebo-M radar system with ATACMS ballistic missiles. Its destruction significantly reduces the russian army's ability to detect, track, and intercept aerodynamic and ballistic targets", - the statement said.
It was emphasized that the Nebo-M radar is a highly complex system, operating in stealth mode to scan the horizon for airborne objects. According to available information, the enemy has only 10 functioning systems of this type remaining, each valued at over $100 million.
The destruction of the radar will create a favorable "air corridor", enabling the effective use of Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG cruise missiles.
