The head of the North Atlantic Alliance, Mark Rutte, has arrived in Ukraine for a visit, according to the Telegram channel "DW Glavnoe" citing Bloomberg.

This marks Rutte's first international visit as NATO Secretary General. Upon assuming his position, Rutte identified Ukraine as a priority in his role as the head of the alliance.

"In Kyiv, Rutte met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and assured him that he would continue to persuade allies to provide support to Kyiv. When asked by journalists about Ukraine's NATO membership and possible peace with russia, Rutte responded cautiously, noting that both are difficult to predict", - the statement said.

Previously, Rutte stated that in his role as Secretary General, he would work to fulfill the commitments made to Ukraine by the Alliance, particularly regarding the irreversibility of its path toward NATO membership.
