As a result of the full-scale russian aggression, 1,169 cultural heritage monuments in Ukraine have been damaged, including 22 in September. This information was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.

"According to information provided by the Oblast Military Administrations and the Kyiv City Military Administration, in September, the total number of affected cultural heritage monuments in the regions increased by 22, bringing the total to 1,169. Of these, 117 are of national significance, 983 of local significance, and 69 newly identified", - the statement says.

It was noted that repeat strikes on previously damaged cultural heritage sites were recorded in the Kherson and Sumy oblasts. New damages occurred in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, and Lviv oblasts.

Overall, cultural monuments in 18 oblasts and Kyiv have been damaged, including: 315 in the Kharkiv oblast, 154 in the Kherson oblast, 161 in the Donetsk oblast, 116 in the Odesa oblast, 65 in the Chernihiv oblast, 81 in the Kyiv oblast and the city of Kyiv, 49 in the Zaporizhzhia oblast, 41 in the Mykolaiv oblast, 41 in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast, 60 in the Lviv oblast, 31 in the Luhansk oblast, 29 in the Sumy oblast, 10 in the Khmelnytskyi oblast, 6 in the Poltava oblast, 4 in the Vinnytsia oblast, 4 in the Zhytomyr oblast, 1 in the Kirovohrad oblast, and 1 in the Cherkasy oblast.

The ministry added that, as of the end of September 2024, almost all of the Luhansk oblast and significant parts of the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Kherson oblasts remain under temporary occupation. This makes it impossible to determine the exact number of damaged cultural heritage sites affected by the fighting and occupation.
