Nearly half of russian citizens (47%) believe that the invasion of Ukraine by russian troops has caused more harm than good. This comes from a sociological survey conducted by the "Levada Center" in September, as reported by Radio Liberty's Telegram channel.

It is noted that this is the highest percentage since the beginning of the full-scale war.

At the same time, over the past year, the share of those convinced of the benefits of putin's so-called "special military operation" has dropped by ten points (from 38% to 28%).

The number of russians who believe that the military actions are progressing successfully is also decreasing. In February, 70% of citizens held this view, but now that number has fallen by ten points.

By September, 54% of respondents expressed support for holding peace negotiations.

In 2016, the independent analytical center of Yuri Levada, or "Levada Center", which regularly conducts sociological and marketing research, was labeled a "foreign agent" by russian authorities. The organization disagrees with this classification. It has often been noted that the results of "Levada Center" surveys differ significantly from those of state-run sociological services.
