On the night of October 18, russia attacked Ukraine using 135 drones, according to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Starting from 8:00 PM on October 17, 2024, the enemy launched an assault using Shahed-type drones and unidentified UAVs from launch areas in Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

As of 8:30 AM, radio-technical units of the Air Forces detected and tracked 135 enemy drones. The air attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's Air Forces and Defense Forces. As a result, 80 enemy drones were shot down in the Odesa, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Kharkiv, Kherson, Volyn, and Vinnytsia oblasts.

It was noted that 44 russian drones were lost from radar detection, two flew into Belarus, and up to 10 enemy drones remained in the airspace of central Ukraine. The combat operation continues.
