Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the U.S. is preparing an additional $800 million package to finance the production of Ukrainian drones. He mentioned this in his evening video address on October 21.
"There is a new decision by the United States to support Ukraine. A new defense package worth $400 million. There is also a separate package being prepared—$800 million in funding for the production of Ukrainian drones", - said the head of state.
"Ukraine is grateful for this support. We need to ensure that, despite any political threats worldwide, Ukraine can consistently defend its sovereignty and independence. And it will certainly happen. Every meeting with partners is a discussion about the defense complex", - the president emphasized.
It is worth noting that the Pentagon announced the new $400 million military aid package for Ukraine, which U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin revealed during his visit to Kyiv on Monday, October 21.
