Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, condemned the participation of UN Secretary-General António Guterres in the BRICS summit held in Kazan, russia. Stefanchuk made this statement at a joint briefing with the Speaker of the Latvian Saeima, Daiga Mieriņa, in Riga, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
"As the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, I have a negative view of Mr. Guterres' participation, as the head of the United Nations, in the summit held in Kazan", - Stefanchuk said.
According to the Speaker, he does not understand the principles guiding the UN Secretary-General in attending a summit hosted by an international criminal, and why Guterres "does not have enough time to visit and actively participate in peace forums" organized by Ukraine.
