In Pokrovsk, the Donetsk oblast, 49 children remain, while all minors from Kurakhovo and other settlements in the Kurakhove community have been evacuated. This was stated by the head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration (OMA), Vadym Filashkin, on air of the Ukrainian nation news TV marathon on November 13.
"Currently, there are 17,000 people left in the Pokrovsk community, including 246 children. In Pokrovsk, there are 11,000 people, including 49 children. As for Kurakhove, 1,300 people remain in the community, and about 700-800 people in the city itself. All the children have been evacuated", - Filashkin said.
He also mentioned that all children had previously been evacuated from settlements located below the Kurakhove Reservoir.
"The day before yesterday, the occupiers blew up the dam of the Kurakhove Reservoir, which contained 55 million cubic meters of water. 20 million cubic meters have flowed out of the reservoir. There have been no flooding of settlements, and there is no threat to the remaining population in those small villages. We evacuated all the children in advance", - the OMA head said.
Filashkin noted that there is no forced evacuation from the frontline communities; it applies only to families with children, but it is extended across the entire oblast.
