The ground component of the russian military group involved in combat operations against Ukraine consists of approximately 580,000 personnel. This was reported by Vadym Skibitsky, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, during an interview with journalists at the sidelines of the expert discussion “Genocidal Practices of the russian federation in Ukraine: From the Holodomor to the russian-Ukrainian War”, as covered by Ukrinform.
"Approximately 580,000 make up the ground component involved in combat operations, including troops stationed in the Kursk oblast", - he stated.
He also noted that 35,000 russian National Guard troops are present in the temporarily occupied territories.
It was previously reported that total combat losses of russian forces in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to November 22, 2024, are estimated at around 728,300 personnel, including 1,050 in the past 24 hours.
