Donald Trump’s team is drafting a massive plan for the energy sector, including approving export permits for new liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects and increasing oil production in the U.S., Reuters reported, according to "The Moscow Times" Telegram channel.
According to two sources, Trump plans to reverse key climate laws enacted by Joe Biden.
One of the first priorities, the sources claim, will be lifting the pause on issuing new LNG export permits. Trump intends to expedite drilling permits on federal lands and resume offshore drilling projects in the U.S. He also aims to push for approval of the Keystone pipeline project. The plan is expected to be unveiled within days of his inauguration.
The publication recalled billionaire Oleg Deripaska’s negative reaction to Trump’s potential victory: "Good morning, new world. Oil at $50 by May, and it seems like peace will be everywhere", - the businessman remarked.
Trump had promised, even before the elections, to launch widespread oil drilling operations.
"We have more black gold than any other country in the world! More than Saudi Arabia, more than russia", - Trump claimed.
He has stated that at $40 per barrel, russia cannot sustain military operations.
Trump also mentioned plans to make a fortune selling energy resources to Europe.
