In the early hours of Monday, December 2, an explosion occurred in Ternopil as a result of an enemy drone attack, igniting a fire in a residential building. There are fatalities and seriously injured individuals, according to the Ternopil Oblast Military Administration (OMA).
"During an air raid alert, the enemy attacked Ternopil. A residential building was damaged. Relevant services are working on-site to extinguish the fire and carry out evacuation efforts. Unfortunately, there are casualties, with one fatality and several seriously injured", - the statement reads.
According to updated information from Mayor Serhii Nadal, the drone strike caused a fire that engulfed apartments on the top fifth floor of a multi-story building and partially affected the third and fourth floors.
The mayor confirmed fatalities but did not specify the exact number of victims.
"As of now, rescue and emergency services are still working. There are fatalities and seriously injured individuals. Doctors are doing everything possible to save the injured. We are preparing temporary accommodations for Ternopil residents whose apartments were affected. I will provide further details later", - the mayor stated.
