The russian army is reportedly planning another offensive on Kherson and has already assembled 300 boats to cross the Dnipro River. This was stated by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, in an interview with Financial Times, as reported by Ukrinform.
"Russia wants to launch another offensive here", - he said, adding that the russian army has gathered "300 boats to cross the river (Dnipro – ed.)".
Prokudin also revealed that since mid-July, russians have carried out more than 9,500 attacks on Kherson and neighboring villages along the western bank of the Dnipro using small drones, resulting in at least 37 deaths and hundreds of injuries.
At the same time, Serhiy Bratchuk, a representative of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army "South", stated that russian forces are attempting to seize river islands and move closer to Kherson's western bank. Recently, they launched a large-scale attack on Kozatskyi Island, northeast of the city and near Nova Kakhovka.
Financial Times suggests that a new offensive on Kherson would be "an even greater prize" for the russians, especially given their advances in the Donetsk oblast, as the city was the first regional center captured by occupiers after the start of the full-scale invasion.
