Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, began negotiations with representatives of Donald Trump’s team in the U.S. on December 5, according to media reports.
"The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, met with representatives of Donald Trump’s team—Keith Kellogg, proposed as special envoy for russia and Ukraine, and Mike Waltz, nominated as national security advisor", - reports Telegram channel "DW Glavnoe".
According to The Wall Street Journal, future U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance also joined the talks. The publication notes that Kyiv aims to convey its readiness for a "sustainable peace" during these discussions.
"An unstable, temporary peace does not serve the interests of the U.S. or Ukraine", - WSJ quoted its source as saying.
It was noted that Keith Kellogg supported the decision of current U.S. President Joe Biden to urgently supply weapons to Ukraine, stating that it would give Trump "leverage over moscow".
Additionally, WSJ reported that Trump’s team has shown "little interest" in the issue of Ukraine's NATO membership.
