The United States will provide Ukraine with a military aid package and a $20 billion loan in January 2025, ahead of Donald Trump's inauguration. This was stated by U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan during a meeting with the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, in Washington, as reported by The Guardian on December 6.

"The military component of the aid includes hundreds of thousands of additional artillery shells, thousands of missiles, and hundreds of armored vehicles", - the statement said.

Additionally, the U.S. promises assistance in training Ukrainian military personnel at facilities outside of Ukraine.

It is also reported that a nearly finalized agreement has been reached to allocate $20 billion in loans to Kyiv, secured by revenues from frozen russian assets.

The Guardian notes that this aid is intended to bolster Ukraine’s position ahead of Donald Trump's inauguration and the anticipated shift in U.S. administration policy toward the war in Ukraine.

On the evening of December 5, Andriy Yermak posted on Telegram: "Productive work with U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the White House".
