Ukrainian President’s communications advisor, Dmytro Lytvyn, stated that Hungary did not discuss proposals for a Christmas truce or a large-scale prisoner exchange with Ukraine. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine on December 11.
"As always, the Hungarian side discussed nothing with Ukraine. As always, the Hungarian side did not inform Ukraine about its contacts with moscow. As always, Ukraine did not authorize Hungary to act on its behalf", - Lytvyn noted.
According to the presidential advisor, Ukraine continues its daily efforts to secure the release of prisoners and has been engaging in relevant contacts for a significant exchange by the end of the year for the past two weeks.
Additionally, the advisor emphasized that Ukraine is committed to achieving full peace and is working in coordination with its partners, "together with America, Europe, and other partners around the world", to make this happen.
"As always, what is needed is not PR but a just peace, and not empty talk but reliable security guarantees", - Lytvyn concluded.
It should be noted that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban previously stated that he proposed a Christmas truce and a large-scale prisoner exchange between Ukraine and russia.
