The russian army will not be able to seize the entire Donetsk oblast by the end of January 2025. Military expert Roman Svitan shared this in a comment to OstroV.
"It is unrealistic for the russians to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk oblast by Trump’s inauguration at the end of January 2025. To achieve this, they would need to capture not only Kurakhove and Pokrovsk but also Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, and Druzhkivka, which is impossible and belongs to the realm of fantasy.
As for the Luhansk oblast, the russians still need to dislodge our garrison from Bilohorivka, but they’ve been trying to do this for three years without success. Therefore, the russians certainly won’t be able to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk oblast by the end of January next year", - he explained.
At the same time, the military expert predicts that the russians will continue attempting to seize as much Ukrainian territory as possible, hoping for a freeze in hostilities.
