The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on Monday announced suspicion against the russian NBC Protection Troops chief Igor Kirillov, who was killed this morning. The general was accused of using chemical weapons against the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to the SBU's statement.
It was noted that “the war crimes of russian Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov were documented... By Kirillov's order, since the beginning of the full-scale war, more than 4,800 cases of the enemy using chemical munitions have been recorded”.
Specifically, this refers to the use of K-1 combat grenades equipped with toxic irritants, the use of which is prohibited by the Chemical Weapons Convention of January 13, 1993, which bans the development, production, and use of chemical weapons.
On Tuesday, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov was blown up near the entrance of his own home in moscow.
