Approximately 250 people currently reside in the ruins of occupied Popasna in the Luhansk oblast. This was reported by the head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, Artem Lysohor, on social media on December 26.
"The number of locals in Popasna continues to decline. If, after the capture of the city, there were around 300 people remaining, now only about 250 remain. russian authorities have repeatedly stated that restoring the settlement destroyed by russian forces is not feasible. The people there have been abandoned to their fate", - the statement reads.
According to Lysohor, prior to the full-scale invasion, the city was home to about 20,000 residents.
