The kremlin currently sees no preconditions for ending the "russian-Ukrainian conflict", according to the BBC on December 30.
"There are no international contacts regarding a peaceful resolution scheduled for December 30 in the Russian president's agenda. The Kremlin also sees no preconditions for ending the conflict", - notes the Telegram channel of the kremlin press pool journalists, RIA Novosti.
"This is how the kremlin responded to reports by Ukrainian media about alleged plans to hold a 'historic meeting' for a peaceful resolution", - the BBC adds.
Previously, Ukrainian journalist Dmytro Gordon claimed that a "historic meeting" was supposed to take place on December 30, potentially marking the end of the hot phase of the war.
"Today is December 29, 2024. I repeat once more: the hot phase of the war will end this year. You might say, 'You're crazy, there are just two days left in the year!' No, friends, I'm not crazy. I have this information", - Gordon stated in a video (quoted by the publication Glavred).
It was also reported that a russian representative had been in Washington for several days, possibly participating in secret negotiations on Ukraine.
