On the night of December 31, Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service announced that Santa had visited Ukraine. The agency shared a video in which border guards in camouflage confirmed Santa’s border crossing.
The Border Guard Service responded to a russian video about Santa—showing him crossing Ukraine’s border and receiving new sleighs. The video featured snowy Ukrainian mountains, with border guards exchanging updates about Santa’s arrival. One guard reported movement, and another confirmed it, responding, "Copy".
Thus, the State Border Guard Service was among the first to greet Ukrainians ahead of the upcoming New Year, with less than 24 hours remaining. “Officially! The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports: Santa has crossed the border”, - the message said.
Earlier, russia had released a video where Santa was shot down by air defense over moscow, with russian Ded Moroz declaring, “We don’t need anything foreign in our skies”.
