Even on New Year’s Eve, russia was preoccupied with causing pain to Ukraine. This was President Volodymyr Zelensky's response to russia's attack during the celebrations.
"Even on New Year’s Eve, russia cared only about how to hurt Ukraine. One hundred eleven attack drones targeted our cities. Thanks to our air defense systems, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare systems, the majority failed to reach their targets. But, unfortunately, there is currently information about one fatality", - the head of state remarked.
Zelensky extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and expressed gratitude to those defending Ukraine and its citizens.
"Our army, holding back assaults. The rescuers, ready to help anywhere in Ukraine. All emergency services, our medics, every man and woman whose job is to save lives. Thank you", - Zelensky emphasized.
On New Year’s Eve, russian occupiers launched 111 drones at Ukraine. Of these, 63 were successfully shot down, while 46 enemy drones designed to mimic targets were lost from radar.
In Kyiv, a woman was killed, and seven others were injured.
